Abstract

278,885. Ehrenreich, A. Oct. 14, 1926. Combination tanning processes; treatment preliminary to tanning.-The skins of sharks and other fish having dermal armour or shagreen are first tanned and then have the dermal armour removed, after which the skins are subjected to a supplementary tanning which may be effected by the usual agents such as sumac, sulphite cellulose extract, chrome, alum &c. or animal tanning substances.
