Abstract

376,177. Rolling. DEMAG AKT.-GES., Duisburg, Germany. Dec. 10, 1931, No. 34315. Convention date, Dec. 27, 1930. [Class 83 (iv).] The mandrel spindle 6 of a pilger mill is made with a helically grooved part X which is made short enough to rotate the work sufficiently even though the stroke is a minimum, the rest of the spindle being longitudinally grooved only. The flats of the grooves bear on rollers 13 in a casing which forms the nut, the casing having an outside ratchet to hold the nut after each rotation.
