Abstract
506,884. Rolling screw - threads. DEUTSCHE ROHRENWERKE AKT.- GES. Sept: 30, 1938, No. 28426. Convention date, Nov. 15, 1937. [Class 83 (iv)] Internal screw-threads are rolled in a tubular blank 1 by a number of rolls 3 with circular grooves f distributed around a screw-threaded mandrel 6 and mounted in a holder 2, machinerotated by its squared end, and pressed into the blank the mandrel 6 being guided by a centring stud 7, rigidly secured in the holder 2. The rolls 3 are inclined to determine the pitch. The mandrel 6 may be conical, double conical or barrel shaped to form like threads on the work, the rolls 3 being free to move radially in the holder 2.
