Abstract
A flux for brazing or soldering metals, e.g. iron, steel, aluminium, copper, nickel, or alloys thereof, comprises a mixture of boracic acid, potassium chlorate, iron carbonate, and borax. The flux is preferably applied to the work simultaneously with the brazing or soldering material, e.g. by packing a mixture of the pulverized flux and the brazing metal in a tubular container, or by pressing the mixture into cakes, or by using the flux as a filling in a tube of the brazing metal.
