Abstract

A welding rod of cast-iron contains 3.5 per cent of carbon, 0.5 per cent of manganese, 3.3 per cent of silicon, and 0.4 per cent of phosphorus, and preferably comprises a graphite-eutectic of cast-iron. A flux used in conjunction therewith comprises pure iron in powdered form, boric acid, potassium nitrate, and potassium carbonate.
