Abstract

374,965. Drying air. ADAMCIKAS, M. and MASSERA, G., Astor House, Aldwych, London. Dec. 23, 1930, No. 38670. [Class 34 (i).] Air circulated in a closed circuit in drying- plants is dried by passage through a condenser through which cool air is passed, the drying-air and the cooling-air both being circulated by fans which are arranged on the same shaft. In Fig. 1 air exhausted by a fan 11 is drawn at 3 from the drying-chamber through tubes 6 to the moisture-collecting chamber 8 and through tubes 7, being then passed over a heating- device 15 and into the drying-chamber at 31. Cool air is drawn through the bottom of the condenser 5 and over the tubes 6 by a fan 21 arranged on the same shaft as the fan 11 and driven by the electromotor 13. In Fig. 3, air from the drying-chamber descends ducts 41, 42, 43, passing upwardly over tubes 39 into the lower end of the casing 36 of the fan 32 by which it is directed over the heater 40 to the drying- chamber. Cool air is drawn into the lower end of casing 37 by the fan 33 and expelled through the tubes 39. Fans 32, 33 are on the same shaft with the electromotor 31 between them.
