Convention date, April, 2 [Class 98 (i).] Relates to box-form, roll-film cameras of the type fitted with a removable insertion member carrying the spool supports and consists in the provision of an auxiliary key to facilitate threading of a new film. As shown in Fig. 1, the insertion member B is fitted with a flat auxiliary key C housed in a pocket formed by slitting and pressing out a bridge 9 ; a coverplate 10 prevents entrance of light and is furnished with a spring extension 11 having a nose 12 adapted to engage a recess 13 in the key. The pocket may be formed on the front wall 8 or on the side wall 4 and is coloured to contrast with the member B. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the auxiliary key comprises a disc 17 loosely secured to the support 4b for the slotted end of the take-up spool. The disc is furnished with shoulder lugs 19 adapted to engage the spool slot, and is knurled or provided with projections 18 for turning. The disc is provided with a central recess sufficient to accommodate the usual winding key. In a further modification, a similar disc is fitted with a pivoted bail.
