Abstract

750,070. Photographic film cassettes. ILFORD, Ltd. Aug. 27, 1954, No. 24959/54. Class 98 (1). In a roll-film cassette which comprises a cylindrical portion 1 and two end caps 2, 3, metal rings 11, 12 are located centrally in said caps so as to provide a groove, between them and flanges 6, 7 of the end caps, just sufficiently wide to accommodate the rims of the cylindrical portion. Preferably the rings 11, 12 fit over internal bosses 4, 5 in the end caps. One end cap 3 may be secured by indentations 8 in holes 13, the other being removable. The rings support the cylindrical portion, which may be made of very thin aluminium sheet, against external pressure tending to close the longitudinal gap from which the film emerges.
