Abstract
374,477. Deep-well pumps. FUNDATOR, L. I., Leninskaia Sloboda, 4, Vostochnaja ultiza, Apartment 5, Moscow, U.S.S.R. Jan. 10, 1931, No. 942. [Class 102 (i).] A deep-well pump comprises two inner barrels 36, united by a partition which is supported in an outer barrel 35 by pipes 19. Pump pistons 14, 23 operating in the chambers above and below the partition draw liquid through the pipes 19 and suction valves 18 and discharge it through ports 16, 21, controlled by valves 17, 22, into the annular space 34, from which it passes through ports 44, 45 to the rising main 3. The pump is operated by compressed air supplied to the surfaces remote from the pump chambers of pistons 10, 10<1>, 30, 27 and the pump pistons 14, 23. The surfaces of the pistons adjacent to the pump chambers are permanently connected - to atmosphere through ports 46, 47, 40, 41 and a tube 2. During the down-stroke com- 'piessed air supplied by a pipe 1 to a chamber 4 containing a valve 5 passes through a port 37 to the piston 10 and by a passage and ports in .the piston-rod to the pistons 10, 14. At the end of the down-stroke a tappet-rod opens a spring-pressed valve 7 in the piston 10 and the compressed air passes to atmosphere through 'the port 46. The valve 5 then closes the port 37 and compressed air passes by a port 38 and tube 33 to the pistons 30, 27, 23, being exhausted at the end of the up-stroke through a valve 31 in the piston 30 and the port 40.
