Abstract

372,900. Photographic contact-printing apparatus. PURSLOVE, A. E., 337, Durnsford Road, Wimbledon Park, London. March 31, 1931, No. 9733. [Class 98 (ii).] In apparatus for holding a negative and a sheet of sensitive paper for contact printing, comprising a baseplate having an aperture therein and means situated on either side of the aperture for guiding the negative and paper into correct position and a manually operated pressure platen for retaining the negative and paper in contact during printing, the guides for the paper comprise arms mounted on a guide plate and raised from the base to form a gap through which the negative passes. In the form shown, the paper is guided by arms 9 and pressed against the edge of the plate 8, while the negative passes beneath the arms 9 and rests against an edge 12 of the baseplate 4. The platen 17 is faced with a resilient pad 18 and is carried by arms 15 pivoted at 14, a cam 20 on the same axis bearing on a resilient strip 21 to grip the negative and paper during the descent of the platen.
