[Class 98 (i)] In photographic projection-printing apparatus the printing paper is selected from one of a number of containers mounted on a carriage which moves at right angles to the direction of travel of the printing paper. The carriage 2 has wheels 3 running on rails 4 which are secured to the bench 1. Lightproof containers 5 contain different kinds of sensitive paper 7 in roll form and which is fed over rollers 12 and along guide strips 6 to the printing frame 8, plates 9 shielding the paper from the light. The containers 5 are pivoted on the carriage and are swung forward when in use, the carriage being fixed in the working position by catches 14 which engage in notches 15 on the carriage. The printing paper is perforated at 21 so that it can be fed forward by engagement of grip-pins 19. When the handle 16 is swung forward, an arm 17 pushes back a pair of slides 18 and withdraws the bevelled ends of the grip-pins 19 from engagement with the perforations in the paper, and moves the pins back until they spring, under the action of the spring plate 23, into the next pair of perforations 22. The springs 24 then retract the handle 16 and feed the paper into position. The negative film 29 is also automatically wound from spool 31 to spool 32 across the lens 28. For this purpose, a guide roller is fitted with teeth 33 and is detachably connected to a clutch roller 39 by means of a screw coupling. The clutch wheel 39 is connected to a Maltese cross 40 which is operated by the pin 41 on a cam wheel 42 that is connected through gearing to the handle 16. The cam wheel 42 also lifts or lowers the pressure plate 47 which is under the action of a spring 46. A cutter 53 is operated by the handle 16 through the levers 51, 52, and a numbering device 57 is swung by the levers 55, 56 into contact with the film.
