Abstract

784,282. Photographic contact-printing apparatus. KODAK, Ltd. March 28, 1956 [March 29, 1955], No. 9680/56. Class 98(2) A photographic printing folder consists of a sheet of material folded to form two panels 26, 27, of which at least one is lighttransmitting, and has means for positioning sheets placed between the panels for printing in a printer having a platen 18 which is movable to and from a flat, lighttransmitting surface 14 on which the folder is positioned in use. In the printer shown, the surface 14 is mounted in a casing 11, to which is hinged a cover 16 on which the platen 18 is spring-mounted. The folder 22 is a transparent flexible sheet folded to form panels 26, 27. A negative and printing paper 24, 23 are inserted into the folder and located against the hinge portion 25. Panel 27 is fixed to the surface 14 at its edge by a clip 29, and panel 26 has a U-section marginal portion 32 which fits over the edge of platen 18. When the . platen is raised, the folder is therefore open for the insertion of the negative and printing paper. When it is closed, the folder and its contents are pressed against the surface 14, and exposure is effected by lamps 15.
