Abstract

372,510. Knitting-machines. SPIERS, Ltd., W. and SPIERS, W., XL Works, Walnut Street, Leicester. April 2, 1931, No. 10005. [Class 74 (ii).] The top plate or equivalent of a superposed cylinder machine is displaceable both axially and laterally with respect to the plain needle cylinder. The invention is described in connection with a rotary needle cylinder machine. A slotted sleeve 2 is provided upon the top plate 1 and is fitted upon one of the pillars 3 of the machine. A pin, screw, &c. 5 upon the pillar 3 engages a slot 4 on the sleeve 2 to retain the sleeve in its normal angular position. A lug 11 is preferably provided upon the plate 1 for engagement with a second pillar 3 to facilitate replacen.ent of the top plate in the operative position
