Abstract

372,454. Mercury-vapour rectifiers. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Feb. 26, 1931, No. 6083. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] Uncontrolled grids, disposed within the anode shield in such a manner that their axes are parallel to the shield axis, consist of several adjacent groups of concentric metallic sleeves. The sleeves may be cylindrical or sector-shaped and the axes of the groups may pass through the vertices of an equilateral triangle, Figs. 2 and 3, or of a polygon. Several groups may be disposed around a central group or the axes of the groups may lie on concentric cylinders. The sleeves forming one group may be connected together ; similarly, the groups disposed within one shield or within all the shields may be connected together. The groups may be connected to or insulated from the shield.
