371,170. Gas meters. ARON, W., 94, Paulsbornerstrasse, Halensee, Berlin. April 30, 1931, No. 12726. Convention date, Oct. 2, 1930. [Class 54.] In a gas meter in which a spring rocker mechanism comprising a leaf-spring 14, a crank 9, a compression spring 8, and a crank 6 on a shaft operated by the diaphragm actuates the valves 11, 12 controlling the gas supply to the measuring chambers, the compression spring is fitted with a telescopic core rod 7, 71 to prevent the spring from bending and to allow its operation even if broken. The core rod may consist of two telescoping parts of unequal diameter or two parts of equal diameter, one having a reduced portion 7a fitting in a hole in the other. Alternatively the compression spring may be mounted in a telescopic sheath or casing, which is preferably made gastight.
