371,137. Dynamo-electric machines. PARSONS & CO., Ltd., C. A., Heaton Works, Newcastle -on - Tyne.-(Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co. ; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.) March 24, 1931, No. 9018. [Class 35.] Mounting and dismounting rotors. - To facilitate the removal of the rotor from a power plant, such as a generator coupled to a turbine or a motor-driven pump, especially when the available space is limited, the stator is slid lengthwise and the rotor removed between it and the other unit of the installation. For this purpose the bearing at the end remote from e.g. the turbine 2, is removed and the rotor supported by a socketed counterbalanced beam 18 on a stand 20. The stator 3 is then slid up to the stand 20, Fig. 4, and the rotor supported on a second stand 22. The beam 18 and stand 20 are then removed and the stator slid clear of the rotor, which can be removed as shown in Fig. 5.
