Abstract

370,153. Pneumatic conveyers. PALISA, H., Horni-Suchau, Mahrisch- Schlesisches Land, Czecho- Slovakia. March 9, 1931, No. 7266. [Class 78 (i).] Means for conveying granular &c. material to fill cavities in mines comprise a blast conduit with an inlet for the material in its wall, air jets between said inlet and the discharge end of the conduit and further air jets on the opposite side of said inlet. In Figs. 1 and 4, the material is delivered from a convever through a hood 17 and hopper 2 into a cylindrical or tapered pipe 1 universally movable on a support 16. An air chest 3 at the rear of the pipe delivers compressed air through a nozzle 5 and smaller nozzles 6, 7, arranged as in Fig. 5, to form an air envelope around the material, the nozzles being flared as in Fig. 10 towards the centre of the pipe 1; an opening 3<1> allows entry of atmospheric air by suction. At the front of the pipe, further air jets 11 .. 14 are provided. A detachable discharge trunk 4 is provided at the front of the pipe, an annular passage 15 being provided for admission of air from the atmosphere ; the lower wall of the trunk slopes upwardly. Intermediate air nozzles 8, 9, 10 may also be provided and further nozzles may be arranged in the pipe 1 or trunk 4 to deliver water in jets or spray. The pipe 1 and trunk may have detachable metal &c. linings. In a modification, the pipe 1 and trunk 4 are duplicated and a hinged flap is provided whereby one or other set may be cut out if desired. In Fig. 13, the blast apparatus is universally mounted at 35 on arms 34 pivoted on a fixed shaft 32 and adjusted by a screw 36 ; the shaft 32 is carried by bearings 28 adjustable by screws 33 on a frame 24 which carries a lamp 39 and is adjusted about a pivot 23 by pinions 27 and toothed segments 25. The material is supplied by a belt conveyer 31 passing round a roller 30 axially movable on the shaft 32 and provided with lateral guides 37. The whole is carried by a truck 21 moved by a motor 40, winch 41, and cable 42.
