Abstract

369,923. Sliding - clasp fasteners. LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd. and HAPPOLD, E. C., Lion Works, Witton, Birmingham. Dec. 18, 1930, No. 38226. Addition to 369,200. [Class 44.] Sliding-Clasp fasteners are provided with locking devices comprising a rocker arm B pivoted to an enclosed fulcrum formed either by projections D on the arm B engaging with indentations on a lug C on the body of the slider, or by rivets or other suitable means. The arm B is provided with one or more prongs F for engaging the fastener members O in order to lock the slider, the engagement being effected by the operation of a spring enclosed in a recess in the arm B, except when the pull J is being used to open or close the fastening. A projection G on the arm B may be provided to limit the disengagement of the locking means, by engaging with a bridge H on the body A. Modified forms of the arm B are shown in Figs. 13, 14, and 15.
