Abstract
Diiodochelidamic acid is obtained by iodinating in a solution alternately rendered acid or alkaline at boiling temperature. According to an example a solution of chelidamic acid in caustic potash is treated with powdered iodine at boiling temperature followed by acidifying and the procedure is repeated until no further iodine is taken up. The product and its salts may be used as contrast media in X-ray photography.ALSO:Salts of di-iodochelidamic acid are used as contrast media in X-ray photography.
