Abstract

A water-soluble complex compound of silver acetylsalicylate with hexamethylene tetramine is prepared by reacting acetylsalicylic acid or a salt thereof with a silver salt and treating the precipitated silver salt with hexamethylene tetramine. According to the example, sodium acetylsalicylate is treated with silver nitrate and hexamethylene tetramine in solution. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 contains also a further example in which silver hydroxide is used to prepare the acetylsalicylate. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
