368,865. Smallarms. GRUNDIG, K., 35, Trinitatistrasse, Dresden, Germany. Dec. 17, 1930, No. 38109. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1929. [Class 119.] The barrel 11, Fig. 1, is arranged at a lower level than usual with regard to the butt-plate 18 and extends backwards and is fitted with a coaxial lock 12 near to but in front of the buttplate ; this arrangement reduces the leverage of the recoil, so that the kick of the gun is practically eliminated. The trigger 13 is placed as usual near the front end of the stock 17, and is connected to the lock by mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic means, for example by a rod 20, Fig. 3, which is interrupted at 21 to permit the lock action 19 to be operated independently of the trigger 13. The stock may be provided with a cheek plate 16. A telescopic sight 15 is mounted on the barrel at eye level ; or open sights are provided on the same level. The barrel may be tiltably connected to the stock as shown in Fig. 4. The firearm may be carried by a shoulder strap 28 as shown in Fig. 6, which arrangement enables the firearm to be used with one hand only.
