Abstract

371,417. Machine guns. BIRMING- HAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., NORMAN, G., and WYKES, C. C., Armoury Road, Small Heath, Birmingham. Jan. 22, 1931, No. 2434/32. Divided on 371,410. [Class 92 (ii).] Relates to double-barrelled gas-operated machine guns having independent breech mechanisms whereby the barrels may be discharged either separately or together, and consists in providing each firing mechanism with a sear 17 movable in a horizontal plane at right-angles to the plane of movement of the trigger 12. The invention is shown applied to the gun described in Specification 371,410. The sears which are pivotally mounted in the common breech body 1 have inclines 20, Fig. 5, for engagement with inclines on the triggers 12 pivotally carried by detachable pistol grips 11 as described in Specification 371,416.
