368,376. Knitting-machines. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd., 22, Hanover Square, London. Dec. 4, 1930, No. 36663. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1929. [Class 74 (ii).] The needle pull-down cam 4 of a sliding needle machine, e.g. a fine gauge bearded-needle machine, has a concave portion 5 so that the needles are pulled down at an increasing rate at the end of their downward movement, and the sinker cam 11 has a surface 16 of reduced radius so that the sinkers may have a retractive movement when the needles commence to move downwards. The loops of the fabric are thus relieved of excessive tension.
