Abstract

366,778. Capsules for bottles. MARTINA, G., 14, Via Brindisi, Naples, Italy. March 21, 1931, No. 8751..[Class 125 (iii).] The capsule 2 of a bottle &c. 3 is secured by a metallic ring 1 which is contracted around the skirt of the capsule by inward radial pressure which is said to effect an annular contraction of the substance of the ring and so to reduce the internal diameter thereof. A metal having suitable properties for the ring is stated to be antimonial lead. The essential properties in such a metal are that it should be brittle, relatively easily broken, capable of contraction by compression, and incapable of extension. An identification mark may be impressed on the ring.
