726,520. Crown corks. WOLFF, F. Nov. 3, 1953 [Aug. 5, 1953], No. 30355/53. Class 125(3). A crown cork closure has a sealing element 1 of a high polymer plastic such as polyethylene capable of permanent deformation at room temperature by the mechanical pressure of the capping operation and consisting of a ring, the annular face of which facing the closure cap 3 prior to closure, has a radial width a less than the axial extension b of the cylindrical face c. The closure may have an inner liner 2 of aluminium foil'or a plastic inert to the contents of the receptacle or a sheet of paper having a waterproof coating of an ethylene polymer or a varnish or enamel and may be retained in position by inward embossments 11.
