Abstract

A resuable and versatile cover for cointainng carbonated/gassy and non-carbonated liquids in bottles, cans and/or glasses and such alike. The cover comprises of a flexible locking collar which secrues the apparatus to the vessel causing an air and water tight seal. Another shaped member is positioned on the inner top of the cover which is inserted into the vessel as the cover is secured to the vessel.

Description

REUSABLE VESSEL COVER
1. This invention relates to a reusable vessel cover suitable for various shapes and sizes of vessels like; bottles, cans, glasses and such alike.
2. Many vessels, once opened, are unable to be re-sealed which leaves the contents vulnerable to tampering. Those vessels containing carbonated/gassy liquids in particular, cannot be securely re-sealed due to the build up of gasses within the liquid requiring escape.
3. With the increase of drinks spiking' Cdrugging) in pubs and clubs across the globe, there is a specific need for a vessel cover which will provide security for consumers to protect their drinks against potential tampering by others.
4. The versatility of this invention enables the cover to hold the escaping gasses without ejecting from the vessel due to a build up of gasses.
5. The vessel can therefore remain with the consumer at all times especially when they are moving around, however vigorously.
6. This vessel cover also allows storage irrespective of whether the vessel has previously been opened or not, for example, an opened vessel could be stored horizontally without spillages due to the air-tight seal created by the vessel cover.
7. The ability of this vessel cover to create an air-tight seal and reseal ensures that liquids remain fresh and carbonated where necessary for a period of time.
-Page 1- 8. Preferred materials for the vessel cover are described below.
8. 1 The embodiment of this invention to be made from; plastic, aluminum or steel.
8.2 The shaped member/plug will preferably be made from a rigid but soft material ie rubber, plastic or a type of cork.
8.3 The flexible locking collar would essentially be made from rubber.
9. A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:- 9. 1 Figure 1 illustrates a frontal view of the preferred embodiment.
9.2 Figure 2 illustrates a cross section view of the preferred embodiment.
9.3 Figure 3 illustrates an underside view of the preferred embodiment.
9.4 Figure 4 illustrates the flexible locking collar of the preferred embodiment.
9.5 Figure 5 illustrates the position in which the preferred embodiment would be placed at the vessel entrance.
9.6 Figure 6 illustrates a cross section view of the final position of the preferred embodiment once secured on the vessel.
-Page 2- 9.7 Figure 7 illustrates a frontal view of the preferred embodiment secured on the vessel.
10. Figures 1 and 2 illustrate a cylinder shaped cover (1) which has a flexible locking collar (2) for securing the preferred embodiment to the vessel. A shaped member (3) made from a rigid but soft material, secured to the inner top of the preferred embodiment (1) is located above the flexible locking collar (2) and enables the dual lock and seal to enter the vessel simultaneously.
11. Figures 3 and 4 illustrate the position of the shaped member (3) in relation to the locking collar (2) and the preferred embodiment (1). This allows liquids, in particular, carbonated/gassy liquids to be contained in the vessel without any loss of pressure or contents.
12. Figures 5 and 6 illustrates the position of the shaped member (3) and the locking collar (2) and the preferred embodiment (1) is applied to the entrance of the vessel (4). As the preferred embodiment (1) is pushed downwardly the locking collar (2) grips the vessel tightly as the shaped member (3) enters the vessel (4).
13. Figure 7 illustrates the preferred embodiment (1) in its final position covering the entrance to the vessel allowing contents to be kept fresh and carbonated/gassy liquids safely contained.
In this final/secure position, the preferred embodiment (1) sits flush to the entrance of the vessel (4) enabling the user to store the vessel in either a vertical or horizontal position.

Claims (7)

Claims Reusable and versatile vessel cover for containing carbonated! gassy and non-carbonated liquids and such alike.
1. A reusable and versatile cover for containing carbonated/gassy and non carbonated liquids in bottles, cans and/or glasses and such alike. The cover comprises of a flexible locking collar which secures the cover to the vessel causing an air and water tight seal. Another shaped member is secured to the inner top of the cover which is inserted into the vessel as the cover is pushed downwardly onto the vessel.
2. A removable/reusable vessel cover according to Claim 1 which moves in a vertical position to allow expansion chamber for carbonated/gassy liquids without any gasses/ liquids escaping or cover ejecting.
3. A removable/reusable vessel cover according to Claim 1 which provides a secure water tight seal when pushed down onto the vessel.
4. A removable/reusable vessel cover according to Claim 1 in which a shaped member with a fixed position at the inner top of the vessel cover enters the vessel at the same time as the flexible locking collar covers the outside of the vessel thereby creating a dual seal.
5. A removable/reusable vessel cover according to Claim 1 that provides a secure air and liquid tight seal by way of a flexible locking collar stretching over the entrance of the vessel.
6. A removable/reusable vessel cover according to Claim 3 which allows the vessel cover to sit flush to the rim of the vessel.
7. A removable/reusable vessel cover according to Claim 2 which enables the vessel to be stored in a vertical or horizontal position without leakage.
