Abstract

366,757. Electric battery lamps. ELEKTROTECHNISCHE F A B R I K SCHMIDT & CO. GES., Bodenbach, Czecho- Slovakia. March 6, 1931, No. 7062. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1930. [Class 39 (ii).] In an electric torch provided with a cap which is slidable axially upon the battery casing and i s guided by a pin-and-slot connection therewith, the interior, of the cap 2, Fig. 1, carries a contact spring 5 which, when the cap is in its outer position on the casing 1, bears upon a cylindrical neck 10 carrying the reflector 9 and closes the battery circuit. When the cap is moved inwardly the contact spring 5 bears upon the upper edge of the casing and is thereby moved away from the member 10. The spring 5 is secured at its lower end to the casing by a rivet 6, and below the rivet is formed an inwardly projecting boss 7 which projects within a guide groove 8, Fig. 3, in the casing. The groove is formed with lateral bends 8a, 8b adapted to receive the boss 7 and retain the cap in either its outer or inner positions by giving it subsequent sliding and rotary movements. The cylindrical member 10 is secured by inturned lugs 11 at its lower end upon an insulating disc 12 closing the upper end of the battery casing.
