Abstract
366,470. Speed governors for turbocompressers. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Standerwick, R. G. ; 17, Brookhouse Drive, Marblehead, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Oct. 17, 1930, No. 31153. Convention date, Oct. 19, 1929. [Classes 57, 110 (i), and 110 (iii).] An arrangement for governing a turbine driven compresser set relative to its speed and compresser suction pressure, wherein the suction pressure controls the position of the follow-up sleeve of the servomotor. A centrifugal governor 23 controls the throttle valve 7 through the servo motor 9, 15 in the usual way, fluid pressure being supplied by the pump 27. The inverted bell 51 is subjected to suction pressure of the compresser 5 and is connected by levers to a pilot valve 38 controlling fluid to a power piston 34 which is connected to the follow-up link 32 of the sleeve 16. The required suction pressure may be varied by altering the position of the weight 58 and the position of the spring 57 varies the width of regulation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4525/11, 20326/11, and 6833/12, [all in Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.].
