Abstract
365,427. Roller-and-breast m i l l s. KRIDER, G. E., Duncansville, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. April 9, 1931, No. 10525. [Class 59.1 In a mill comprising a roller and breast 5, the latter is adjusted by a rod 12 pivoted at one end 15 to the breast and connected at the other to a spring 39 by means of a screw adjusted block 16, link 19, and lever 29 which is connected to the spring by a chain 37. The block 16 is slidable on the rod 12 and is movable thereon by a screw 14 screwed through the rod and operated by a worm and worm wheel 26, 24 through a hand-wheel. The block forms a pivot for one end of a link 19, the other end of which is pivoted intermediate the length of a lever 29 pivoted in a part 32 of the mill casing. The other end of the lever 29 is provided with an eyebolt 35 connected to the chain 37 which passes over a pulley and through the spring 39 to a bar 38 which bears on one end of the spring, the other end of the spring bearing against a standard 11. A limiting stop 41 may be interposed under the lever 29.
