Abstract

365,278. Spinning and twisting flyers. KUNZE, R., Barenstein, Chemnitz, Germany. Dec. 19, 1930, No. 38302. [Class 120 (ii).] In a suspension device for flyers for spinning and twisting machines, the driving wharl is constructed as an oil container tightly closed by nuts and the entrance and exit for the thread are both provided with hard glass or porcelain rings. A hollow support 3 with a collar 2 is secured to a traverse rail 1 by a nut 4. Surrounding the part 3 is the wharl 9 which is hollow and closed at the top by a nut 8a. An opening (not shown on the drawings) is provided for filling the wharl 9 with lubricant. Ball bearings 5, 6 separated by a sleeve 7 and held on the part 3 by a nut 8, separate the driving wharl for the stationary support 3. The driving wharl 9 is provided with a bored screw-threaded member 10 to which the flyer 12 is attached. A tube 13 is fixed in the lower portion of the driving wharl and extends through the support 3, a cap 15 with a porcelain or hard glass ring 16 being screwed to an extension 14 thereof. A porcelain or hard glass ring 16a is also fitted to the underside of the hub of the flyer 12. The device may be provided with a brake, the brake band 17 preferably acting on the upper extension 18 of the driving wharl. Specification 8600/15, [Class 120 (ii), Spinning, twisting, &c.], is referred to.
