363,868. Photographic shutters. BARENYI, A., 12, Ringstrasse, Lichterfelde, Berlin. Jan. 26, 1931, No. 2490. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1930. [Class 98 (i).] In a shutter of the pivoted blade symmetrical opening type in which the operating mechanism comprises a spring motor turning always in one direction to drive the shutter blades through an operating ring, and two pawls of different length which are successively retracted to release the motor, one of the pawls is retracted by the action of a setting lever. In the form shown, the lever 28 which tensions the spring in the casing 26 through the pawl 27 has a cam face 39 which bears on and disengages the pawl 24 from one of the lugs 23 on the casing 26 when the lever 28 is depressed. The lug then comes in contact with the pawl 25 which is slightly shorter than the pawl 24. To make ,the exposure the pawl 25 is retracted by an arm 38 on the operating lever 33, rotation of the casing 26 being limited by the engagement of the next lug on the casing with the pawl 24.
