Abstract

362,033. Plug and two-part couplings; ceiling roses. DABSCHECK, W., 407, Swanston Street, Melbourne, Australia. Sept. 15, 1930, No. 27515. [Class 38 (i).] The inlet opening for multiple conductors 8 is fitted with a conductor isolating member 9 that has a separate hole 10 for each conductor so that the conductors 8a, 8b are not in contact between the point of entry and the terminals. The isolating member 9, Figs. 1 and 12, for a coupling to an iron &c. is secured by means of a flange 12 between the halves 2a of the coupling body which also has a groove for attachment of a resilient guide 16. If an earth wire 8c is provided, a third hole is provided in the member 9 and the wire connected to a contact 38, that may be resilient, or to a lateral plug or leaf spring, or to a casing that engages a spring on the iron &c. The leads may be gripped in the holes 10 by transverse screws. In the form shown in Fig. 13 the sockets 68 are carried by the member 9, a cap 43 serving to secure thereto the plug member 41a into which the leads pass through holes 71 similar to the holes 10. The member 9 may alternatively carry the plug contacts..In a ceiling rose construction, Fig. 17, the member 9 has an extension 11a that enters a groove 57 in the base 41c and is secured by a screw cap 43. The leads are gripped by screws 89.
