559,291. Two-part couplings. O'BRIEN, J. F. June 24, 1942, No. 18307/43. Convention date, June 14, 1941. [Class 38 (i)] A wall socket con- struction which may form part of a wiring- system as described in Specification 559,266 comprises contacts 39 each consisting of a body portion 39a bent to lie opposite to the plug receiving.apertures 40 in the cover 21 of the moulded conduit, and a shank portion 39b that is secured to one of the conductors 32 mounted in the conduit, the shank portion being bifurcated so as to form an opening 41 through which the contact blade P' of the plug member P can pass in order to reduce the necessary depth of the conduit. The bifurcated ends of the shank portions are bent to form axially aligned collars that embrace the conductor 32. The contacts are located between transverse walls 26 in the cover 21 of the conduit and bear against a longitudinal wall 27, ribs 35 on the base 22 of the conduit fitting into notches 36 in the walls 26. Between the walls 26 the base may have a recess 42 to receive the ends of the contacts P'.
