[Class 126.] A box c for cooked food is mounted over the frying-pan a so that it may be moved from a front position, shown in full lines, in which it covers the front of the pan, to a rear position, shown in dotted lines, in which the pan is exposed; means being provided, such as the hinged plates h, i, for covering the space over the pan at the rear of the box c in all positions of the latter. In the construction shown, the box c is supported by rollers d running on guides b<2> projecting from side plates b, and by pins e which slide on inclined edges b<1> of the plates b. The pins e enter notches b<3> in the edge b<1> to retain the box in the desired position. The plates h, i which cover over the rear of the pan are hinged to one another, the plate h being hinged to the pan, and the plate i detachably hinged in hooks j on the back-plate. The box c has a perforated false bottom and an outlet o through which fat returns to the, pan, and the lid closing the top is in three hinged sections. 'The guide surface b<1>, b<2>. may be curved, or, in an alternative arrangement, the box c may be carried from the side plates by.pivoted links. : Instead of the hinged plates h, i a telescoping plate may be used.
