Abstract
415,773. Suitcases &c. BRANKER, R. C., 42, St. John Street, Clerkenwell, London, March 1, 1933, No. 6302. [Class 18.] An attachÚ case, &c. 9 can be placed in a larger case, such as a suitcase 1, through an aperture formed in one side, e.g. the lid, thereof The attachÚ case is provided with projections to rest on ledges formed adjacent the aperture, and the latter can be closed by a flap 4 which rests on abutments 8 formed just above the ledges supporting the attachÚ case. The supporting projections on the attachÚ case are formed in its lid, and the latter is hinged at 13 a short distance from the back of the case so that the attachÚ case can be opened without removing it from the suitcase. A tongue 14 sewn under the front edge of the lid of the attachÚ case facilitates removal of the case. The attachÚ case is also provided with a handle and a lock, the latter being preferably situated in the lid near the front edge. The flap 4 consists of a rigid sheet hinged by the material which covers the lid, and it is provided with a depending flange 5 of wood, this flange and the portion of the lid against which it abuts carrying co-operating fastenings. The aperture in the lid may be surrounded by a metal strengthening frame, and the aperture and attachÚ case may be of circular, oval, polygonal, horseshoe, &c. shape.
