739,014. Deep fat fryers. ANDERSON, J. M. May 12, 1954 [June 24, 1953], No. 17492/53. Class 66. [Also in Groups VI and XI] A filter or perforated strainer, for a deep fat fryer, comprises a completely immersed tray forming an internal crumb trap and one or more integral shelves above fat level to form an external crumb trap. A casing 5 surrounds an electrically heated metal frying pan 7 with a splash deck 18 at one side. A strainer 19, preferably of sheet aluminium or the like, fits into the pan and has a shelf 20 resting on splash deck 18. A lip 21 holds the crumbs on shelf 20. The food to be cooked is held in a basket 23 which preferably has a folding or removable handle 24. A removable lid 25 may be provided for the pan. U.S.A. Specification 1,996;434 is referred to.
