[Class 38 (v).] Cables E are sealed into metal-clad switchgear and like installations by passing them through a cable gland F into a tubular insulating chamber B containing oil and located inside the normal chamber A for the oil-immersed isolating switches &c. An internal contact G is connected to an external one G<2> by a stud G<1>, a washer H preventing oil-leak. In a modification the tube B is in two parts, provision is made for a current transformer, and the tube contains or is in the form of a condenser insulator.
