Abstract

364,133. R÷ntgen ray apparatus. KOCH & STERZEL AKT.-GES., 40, Zwickauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. July 24, 1930, No. 22373, Convention date, July 25, 1929. [Class 98 (i).] Comprises the combination of a R÷ntgen apparatus with a transformer having a high potential secondary winding, the tappings of said winding being associated with at least two tapping regulating devices arranged approximately symmetrical with respect to the electrical induction system. Tappings from the end of the secondary winding are taken to switches 14, 15, Fig. 1, the arms of which connect to the output leads 16. In a modification the secondary winding is divided into two, the inner ends of which are tapped out to switches having earthed arms. With a three-phase transformer, each phase winding has tappings connected to a switch and the three switch arms are connected to form the star-point. In the constmction shown in Fig. 4, the secondary winding 12 is in two parts, each part being mounted on an insulating tube 24 and the tappings brought to studs 27. Contact arms 29 mounted on insulators 30 may be rotated by an electric motor 34 through a worm gear. If the circuit shown in Fig. 1 is used, the arms 30 are mounted on the lead-in insulators.
