Abstract
766,062. Transformers. REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A. Jan. 3, 1955 [Jan. 1, 1954], No. 55/54. Class 38 (2). High voltage apparatus comprises current transformers on at least two of the three main conductors meeting at a T-connection, all the transformers being enclosed in a single housing which includes at least one hollow insulator which supports the main conductors at the T-connection and insulates them from the base of the housing. The housing B comprises a metal base B<SP>2</SP>, a hollow porcelain insulator B<SP>1</SP> and a metal cowl B<SP>3</SP> which cowl may form the T-junction point of the three main conductors A<SP>1</SP> A<SP>2</SP>, A<SP>3</SP>. Each main conductor is associated with a terminal C<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>2</SP>, C<SP>3</SP> respectively which are supported by the hollow insulator B<SP>1</SP> and each conductor is connected to the junction points B<SP>3</SP> by way of conductive members D<SP>1</SP>, D<SP>2</SP>, D3 respectively, which may be U-shaped or straight. The members D<SP>1</SP>, D<SP>2</SP>, D<SP>3</SP> form the primary windings of current transformers, the core and secondary winding assemblies being denoted by E<SP>1</SP>, E<SP>2</SP>, E<SP>3</SP> respectively. Should only two of the members D<SP>1</SP>, D<SP>2</SP>, D<SP>3</SP> be provided, the secondary windings will be differentially connected. Alternatively each member D<SP>1</SP>, D<SP>2</SP>, D3 may be provided with more than one secondary winding. The housing may be oil-filled. The members D1, D2, D3 may also be arranged to pass through the secondary windings more than once to produce wound-type primary windings. In a three-phase system three such arrangements will be provided one in each phase.
