Abstract

Acid wool, basic, and mordant dyes, dyeing with.-Fur skins are prepared and dyed by first treating them in a soap solution for a period of an hour or upwards so as to swell the skin, then chrome tanning, and finally dyeing with acid, basic, or mordant dyes in a boiling dye bath. The soap bath may be prepared from soap containing ethylene trichloride with the addition of soda ash. The skins may be printed, or a mordant may be printed thereon and aged prior to dyeing.
