Abstract
Skins, furs, hairs, feathers &c. are dyed by treatment with a solution of 2.7-dioxynaphthalene in presence of hydrogen peroxide. The skins may be prepared with chromium, iron, or copper mordants, various shades of grey being obtained. If ammoniacal hydrogen peroxide be employed, more yellowish tints are produced. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) includes the use of any oxidizing agent. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
