[Class 60.] Disc apparatus; tables slides and carriages.- The work-table of a grinding machine or other machine tool, has a circular central portion a adapted to be rotated, and a non-rotary end portion, or portions b flush therewith, the central and end portions being together adapted to be reciprocated ; the circular portion may be rotated whilst the reciprocation is stopped or vice versa. The portion a is driven by an electric motor c through worm gearing e, f, and the motor and the portions a, b are mounted on a carrier g movable on slides h on the machine bed k ; the carrier is reciprocated by a rack n and a worm m driven from an electric motor u on the bed k. The grinding wheel v may be stationary or may be traversed across the table ; the portion b may form a rectangular table, and the movements may be produced by hydraulic cylinders.
