Disc apparatus; cutting-edges, shaping; milling-cutters and like tools, sharpening. - A machine tool intended for grinding or other operations comprises a motor 65 driving a tool 56 and mounted by a sliding and rocking support 43 on a post 41 carried on a slide 16, which has two longitudinal adjustments at right-angles by means of screws 25, 35 and hand-wheels 30, 36 as well as a rotational adjustment about a lock. ing-pin 22. A second slide 15 with similar adjustments supports the work, which, as shown in Fig. 1, is a twisted cutter 77 locked by a bar 78 for the purpose of being ground by the tool 56. Fig. 5 shows a jig for holding a straight blade 87 for grinding, and Fig. 8 a jig for an end cutter C. In a modified form, the motor is supported on a laterally-extending bracket and drives the tool spindle through belt-gearing.
