Abstract
357,629. Supply and delivery arrangements for hot water boilers. EWART, S., 346, Euston Road, London. June 26, 1930, No. 19452. [Class 64 (i).] A geyser comprises a chamber 1 heated by a thermostatically controlled gas burner 2 and provided with a valve 6 operable manually and capable of definite positions so that either hot or cold water or a mixture of both flows from the outlet. The control valve comprises a casing having an inlet 10, outlet ports 21, 22 and a longitudinally movable member carrying ports 23, 24. On moving this member firstly ports 21, 23 will coincide so that cold water flows through pipe 14 direct into the outlet pipe. Secondly ports 22, 24 will also coincide and cold water enters the base of the heater through pipe 13 and displaces hot water through the outlet pipe which mingles with the cold water still flowing through pipe 14. Finally ports 21, 23 move out of coincidence and only hot water leaves the outlet. The flue 5 of the heater is surrounded by a concentric sleeve 15.
