Abstract

807,464. Controlling burners. HUBBARD COMBUSTION Ltd. June 12, 1956 [July 6, 1955], No. 19592/55. Class 75(1) [Also in Group XXIX] A liquid fuel burner-supply system has a three way valve 12, Fig. 2 receiving fuel from a supply main via. e.g. inlet 39, Fig. 1, regulating valve 41 actuated by a motor 36 controlled by a boiler or furnace pressure switch or thermostat. stop valve 42 actuated by a solenoid 5 controlled by flame failure or boiler draught and passage 45, and passing it either to a burner at 46 or a return main at 47, and means ensuring that the valve is only in equilibrium when occupying one or other of its limiting positions in which it is open to the burner but not to the return main, or vice versa. The valve 12 is operated manually by a lever at 18 having an over-centre device. The system is provided with a convex surface 50 around the burner outlet 46 which is clamped at 8, 10 to the burner tube and a spring loaded ball valve closes the outlet when the system is unclamped from the burner.
