Abstract

356,023. Foot-arch supports. ASAM, H., 27, Adlzreiterstrasse, Munich, Germany. Oct. 30, 1930, No. 32641. [Class 81 (ii).] Insoles for supporting the foot arch are made by pressing on to a model of the foot two layers a of hard cowhide leather, and a smaller plate b of celluloid or like material 2-5 mm. thick, the latter being cemented between the layers of leather by means of acetone or acetic ether and pressure. The celluloid can also be applied to the leather in plastic form. The projecting leather margins are cemented and pressed in the ordinary manner. Ventilating holes may be provided. For bunions, an extension d under the big toe is pressed up on its inside edge to form a wall holding the toe in its natural position. The stocking is then divided between the big and second toes. The support may be cemented into any shoe. A known construction comprising a layer of celluloid and a single layer of leather is referred to.
