Abstract

355,147. Thermal switches. BARKER, G. P., (trading as BARKER, G.), 112, Doveleys Road, Pendleton, Manchester. May 27, 1930, No. 35786. Divided on 343,555. [Class 38 (v).] A bimetallic strip j, subject to temperature change, raises and lowers a rod n carrying adjustably spaced nuts p, q, thereby operating, with an adjustable amount of lost motion, a lever f which carries a mercury switch a and the forked end of which embraces the rod n between the nuts p, q. The lever f is pivoted substantially at the point of balance of the mercury switch and the pivot is made stiff so that the mercury switch remains fixed when not acted upon by one of the nuts. Specification 343,555 is referred to.
