Abstract

456,220. Thermal switches. SATCHWELL, L., Farnham Road, Slough, Bucking- hamshire. May 4, 1935, No. 13382. [Class 38 (v)] In a thermostatic switch suitable for an oven in which an expanding tube 2 causes the lowering of a rod 3 and hook 5 and the consequent movement of a switch blade 6 so that a contact 8 is pulled away from a fixed contact 16, the blade 6 and contact 16 are mounted on one arm of a lever 10 pivoted at 12, the other arm 11 of the lever being adjustable by rotation of a screw 19 which lies in the same plane as the tube 2 and extends out from the base in the same direction. The screw 19 may carry a bracket 27 carrying a screw engaging the arm 11 and may itself be turned through the medium of a rod connected to the screw 19 by a coupling 22. A spring 20 holds the arm 11 against the bracket 27. A flick action is given to the contacts by an armature 7 and magnet 14. The tube 2 is adapted to extend along the side of the oven and the regulating knob, connected through the rod to the screw 19, is adapted to be at the front of the oven.
