Abstract
418,361. Automatic circuit-breakers. CRABTREE, J. A., Endwood, Little Aston Park, Sutton Coldfield. Jan. 17, 1933, No. 1492. Divided out of 415,393. [Class 38 (v).] A circuit-breaker comprises a switchlocking and release mechanism which is mounted in a fixed housing or frame, a thermal-release device which is mounted independently of the mechanism housing, and an adjustable tappet-lever which is mounted on the frame and is adapted to transmit the release movement from the thermal device to the trip catch of the mechanism. As applied to the breaker disclosed in Specification 415,129, the mechanism housing j supports the trip-lever g, the arm g<2> of which is engaged for tripping by a tappet m, the arm m<1> of which is engaged by the bimetal element h. The tappet is mounted at one end of an arm n pivoted to j at n<1> and provided with an adjusting screw n<2> whereby the clearance between m, g<2> can be altered. Initial calibration is effected in the manner disclosed in Specification 415,393. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 306,004, [Class 38 (v)].
