Abstract

An alloy particularly suitable for the electrical contacts of relays, switches, &c., consists of less than 25 per cent of palladium, copper, preferably 1-50 per cent, and silver, and is substantially free from iron and other metals impairing the ductility. A small amount of a deoxidizer may be used in preparing the alloy by melting, and the heat treatments described in Specification 354,216, [Group XII], may be applied to improve its properties.
